Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Mining Engineer to ensure that mining operations are optimized, with production targets consistently met. The Mining Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the work of shift teams, managing equipment efficiency, and ensuring the health and safety of all mining activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision and Leadership: Oversee both personnel and equipment across various positions, ensuring that targets are met with a focus on consistent production and operational efficiency.
- Shift Management: Lead mining operations across shift teams, ensuring that mining activities are executed effectively and efficiently in line with company goals.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and enhance the performance of drilling operations, working closely with drillers to optimize output.
- Equipment Oversight: Monitor equipment to prevent idle running, ensuring smooth operation of loading faces and haulage roads to maximize productivity.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Maintenance and Efficiency: Ensure proper cleaning of blasting faces and removal of boulders to keep operations running smoothly.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely reporting of operational data, ensuring all activities are documented and analyzed for continuous improvement.
- Additional Duties: Carry out other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager to support the mining operations.
Job Requirements
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Mining Engineering.
- Experience: A minimum of 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience in mining operations.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of mining and processing operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capability to make informed operating and mechanical decisions.
- Effective leadership skills with a focus on managing teams and driving performance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Exceptional relationship management skills to foster collaboration across teams.

Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of N150,000 - N200,000 per month, along with other company benefits.
