The Opportunity
As a dedicated Model Validator Lead, you will oversee 3rd Line of Defense Model Risk Audit Oversight for high-risk and highly complex models. You will ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies requiring independence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent third line of defense model risk audit activities.
- Utilize expert model risk knowledge for specialized model reviews.
- Develop and execute model testing plans.
- Assess model governance processes and produce audit documentation.
- Report model review results and trends to leadership.
- Stay updated on emerging techniques and best practices in model risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or 4 years of related experience.
- 8 years of experience in model validation, development, audit, or advanced quantitative research.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong communication skills for complex quantitative concepts.
- Proficiency in programming languages for model development.
- Knowledge in banking and insurance modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree with 8+ years in model development, validation, or audit.
- Knowledge of SR 11-7 and ASOP 56.
- Experience in monitoring emerging trends in model risk management.
- Proven ability to document and present findings to management.
Work Environment
Flexible work environment requiring 4 days in the office per week. Locations include San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Tampa, FL; or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance available.
Compensation and Benefits
USAA offers competitive salaries ($158,960 - $303,830) and incentives.
