Haske Humanitarian Aid Initiative (HHAI) is a government-registered and recognized woman-led and youth-driven National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) founded in 2022. Our mission is to save lives and alleviate the suffering of vulnerable children, adolescents, young people, women, and People With Disabilities (PWD). We aim to maintain human dignity during and after man-made crises and natural disasters, strengthen preparedness, and promote the rights of those affected.
Position Available: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer
Location: Bauchi
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to design and implement M&E activities for our ongoing programs. This role involves ensuring the effective collection, analysis, and utilization of data to enhance program performance and uphold accountability to beneficiaries and donors.
The M&E Officer will collaborate with program teams to support evidence-based decision-making and reporting, delivering high-quality interventions in humanitarian contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement M&E systems and tools to monitor and evaluate program performance, outputs, and outcomes.
- Coordinate and standardize data collection processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Train staff and partners in M&E tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with program and technical teams to integrate M&E findings into program design and implementation.
- Assist in program proposal development by providing data and evidence for informed decision-making.
- Maintain and update M&E databases to ensure organized and accessible program data.
- Conduct field visits to monitor project activities, collect data, and validate information.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on program performance and impact to project teams, senior management, and donors.
- Ensure data integrity and quality control across all projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field; Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E, preferably within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Strong understanding of M&E methodologies, data collection tools, and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent reporting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to remote and insecure locations for field monitoring.
- Experience working with humanitarian and development projects in challenging and conflict-affected environments.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis software such as Excel, SPSS, or other relevant tools.
