The National Humanities Center invites scholars worldwide, regardless of nationality, to apply for the prestigious National Humanities Center Fellowship 2024/2025. This fully-funded scholarship supports advanced research in the humanities, fostering a dynamic intellectual environment at our North Carolina facility.
Scholars from diverse backgrounds contribute to the vibrant community of Fellows each year, enriching the fellowship program with their unique perspectives. Amidst the serene surroundings of the Archie K. Fellowship Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent scholarly credentials. Mid-career and senior scholars are encouraged to apply, as are emerging scholars with a robust record of peer-reviewed work. However, the Center does not support dissertation revisions. Scholars from various fields, including the humanities, natural and social sciences, arts, professions, and public life, are welcome to apply.
Fellowship Prize:
Stipend amounts are individually determined based on scholars' needs and the Center's resources, with funding sourced from the Center's endowment, private foundation grants, alumni contributions, and support from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Center aims to provide up to half of the salary, with a maximum of $65,000, expecting the scholar's home institution to cover the remainder.

Application Process:
Applications for the 2025-26 academic year will be accepted from July 1, 2024, with a deadline of October 3, 2024. Applicants are required to complete an online application form and submit the following documents:
- 1,000-word project proposal.
- Short bibliography (up to 2 pages).
- Curriculum vitae (up to 4 pages).
- One-page tentative outline of the project's structure.
