The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka has announced a significant reduction in ICT fees and charges, aiming to provide financial relief to students. This initiative, approved by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Carol Arinze Umobi, follows recommendations from the ICT Committee.
The total reduction in ICT-related charges amounts to N9,500, marking a substantial step toward making education more affordable.

One of the most notable changes is the introduction of a single ICT charge, which means students will now make one comprehensive payment for all ICT services. This eliminates the necessity for multiple payments and streamlines the process for students.
Several fees have been abolished entirely, providing further financial relief:
- The application fee, previously set at N2,000, has been eliminated.
- The duplicate orientation fee, which cost N3,500, has also been removed.
In addition to these changes, some fees have been reduced. The General Studies publications fee has been decreased from N12,000 to N8,000, allowing students to save N4,000. Furthermore, all transcript fees will now enjoy a 50% reduction, making this essential service more accessible.
