NNPC/TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship Program

The NNPC/TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship program aims to advance Nigeria's socio-economic growth by enhancing the quality of education through collaborations with esteemed local and international academic institutions.

This fellowship offers an exceptional opportunity to spend a semester at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), fully funded by MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiative), NNPC Limited, and TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI).

Designed as a platform for innovation in engineering education, the ETT Fellowship seeks to catalyze significant changes within Nigerian tertiary education.

MISTI's mission is to introduce problem-solving, innovation, and creativity into science and engineering education across African universities, addressing the decline in standards resulting from neglect and lack of investment.

Eligibility criteria include:

  • Interest in developing new curricula and teaching methodologies
  • Holding a PhD and serving as a faculty member in a Nigerian university, specializing in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering, or Geophysics
  • Holding a Lecturer One rank

Selected fellows, drawn from disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Geophysics, will spend a semester at MIT in either Spring 2024 (February-May 2024) or Fall 2024 (September-December 2024).

The MIT-ETT program covers travel, accommodation, and instructional materials expenses. During their time at MIT, fellows will:
