Job Opportunity: Information Management Officer (Nutrition)
UNICEF is currently recruiting for the position of Information Management Officer (Nutrition) in Maiduguri, Borno. This temporary appointment at the NO-2 level falls under the category of Nutrition.
Responsibilities
Information Management
- Collaborate with state operational arms to develop a prioritized plan for information management activities, contributing to UNICEF planning processes.
- Disseminate Nutrition Sector information through appropriate channels, gather feedback, and make improvements based on user input.
- Design and implement an information management capacity assessment and development plan for sector partners in collaboration with AIM TWG.
- Compile, clean, and analyze nutrition data, visualizing it through information products such as briefs, maps, graphs, and presentations.
- Support complete, quality, and timely reporting of nutrition programs based on partnership agreements and agreed monitoring frameworks.
- Maintain information databases and project information management tools.
- Co-chair the Nutrition Sector’s AIM TWG and represent UNICEF in information management and survey-related meetings.
Situation Monitoring and Assessment
- Compile data for SitRep inputs with emphasis on the nutrition section and sector plans, targets, and achievements.
- Ensure timely and accurate information on changes in conditions of children, women, and families is available to sector partners for planning and impact measurement.
- Prepare survey reports, newsletters, briefs, and presentations for decision-making and prioritization of nutrition interventions.
Support to Programme Development, Planning, and Monitoring
- Conduct regular updates and situation analysis for the program, sharing collated nutrition statistics against performance indicators for higher management use.
- Conduct field visits to monitor data collection and reporting quality, providing supportive supervision as needed.
- Provide technical and operational support throughout programming processes, preparing documentation and materials for program review meetings.
- Develop periodic dashboards and evidence for advocacy for nutrition programming.
Coordination and Representation
- Contribute to the effective roll-out and monitoring of core sector functions as a member of the Nutrition Sector Coordination Team.
- Represent the sector's information management function at all levels and coordinate with others within the function for effective communication, reporting, and engagement.
- Actively engage with other Information Management Officers through relevant IM Working Groups.
Requirements:
Education
- University Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or Computer Science with a nutrition focus.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in public health, nutrition, knowledge/data management, or related fields.
- Experience in a humanitarian context is an asset.
- Experience in nutrition data collection, analysis, and report development.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of the duty station's working language is an asset.
