Background
The five-year (2020-2025) “State Accountability, Transparency, and Effectiveness” (“State2State”) Activity aims to bolster accountability, transparency, and efficiency within selected state and local governments (LGAs) in Nigeria.
Key focus areas include strengthening governance systems, particularly in public financial management (PFM), procurement, and monitoring and evaluation. This initiative targets improvements in key sectors such as basic education, primary healthcare, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Additionally, it aims to enhance government responsiveness to citizen needs and capacity in conflict management.
Position Objective
The Office Assistant will provide essential administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of office spaces, windows, and equipment before staff arrival.
- Maintenance of the Abuja office lawn.
- Ensuring cleanliness of washrooms and toilets throughout the workday.
- Issuance of office supplies using approved procedures.
- Replacement of dispenser water as needed.
- Reporting maintenance issues to the Facilities Specialist.
- Assistance with logistics and other operational tasks as assigned.
- Supporting the Administrative and Logistics Assistant in their absence.
- Ensuring timely replenishment of restroom toiletries.
- Twice daily emptying of waste bins.
- Maintaining odor-free office environments.
- Neat and prompt handling of photocopying, scanning, and document binding.
- Preparation of tea, coffee, and refreshments for meetings.
- Performing other reasonable duties as assigned.
Reporting
The Office Assistant will report to the Administrative and Logistics Assistant.
Minimum Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in office administration and related support functions.
- Willingness and ability to learn and train others.
- Proactive approach and ability to take initiative.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, multicultural environment.
- Minimum OND qualification.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
