Position: Operations Manager
Location: Kogi
Responsibilities:
- Plan, oversee, and direct daily operational activities at the plant and assigned O&M team.
- Ensure adherence to contractual performance targets within the designated responsibility area.
- Cultivate competent resources and foster the professional development of operational personnel and assigned team.
- Spearhead training initiatives and address training and development needs for new hires and subordinates, as well as client employees.
- Identify and actively pursue enhancements in operational reliability and plant availability.
- Monitor and optimize operational costs.
- Administer and train skilled maintenance personnel to foster effective teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage among employees.
- Review daily work progress against plans and minimize rework instances.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve Operations & Maintenance challenges.
- Disseminate technical bulletins, safety alerts, and quality updates to enhance team knowledge.
- Implement technical bulletins within specified timelines.
- Develop operational protocols at the plant.
- Maintain plant and equipment condition per applicable guidelines and policies, taking corrective measures when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
- Execute Agreement Management action plans, processes, and guidelines in the designated area of responsibility.
- Generate reports, operational/maintenance plans, and budgets as directed by the Agreement Manager.
- Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Negotiate and procure materials and services for operations in alignment with the plan.
- Approve maintenance schedules based on plant operational requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of Risk Assessment before commencing any maintenance work.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Agreement Manager, as needed.
Requirements:
- MSc/BSc Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant industrial experience, with a requirement of operational experience in GAS/HFO power plants and auxiliaries.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong customer-focused mindset with a penchant for continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with Wärtsilä business, quality standards, and workplace safety protocols is advantageous.
