Oxfam Overview:

Oxfam is dedicated to crafting a fair world devoid of poverty, with a global coalition of 17 affiliates. In Nigeria, we focus on Economic Justice/Sustainable Livelihoods, Humanitarian Aid, Gender Justice, and Good Governance through a rights-based approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Support: Aid in planning, executing, and overseeing project activities to align with objectives and timelines.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster communication with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating meetings and workshops for government officials, NGOs, and community organizations.
  • Capacity Building: Organize training sessions for project staff, officials, and community members on relevant topics and methodologies.
  • VSLA Group Formation and Management: Assist in establishing and monitoring savings and loans groups, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
  • Budget Management: Help develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Gender and Social Inclusion: Ensure project activities are inclusive of marginalized groups, especially women and rural populations.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Cultivate relationships with local partners and government agencies to expand program impact.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare progress reports, success stories, and lessons learned. Maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Data Management: Collect, organize, and analyze project data for evaluation purposes.
  • Administrative Support: Assist Project Coordinator with meetings, logistics, and documentation.

Experience, Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics, or related field.
  • Knowledge & Experience: Previous project implementation experience, preferably in agriculture or development.
  • Key Attributes: Strong organizational skills, effective communication, proficiency in English and local languages, ability to travel within Taraba State.
  • Competencies: Enabling, Mutual Accountability, Building Relationships, Influencing.
