Founded in 2019, the Care Best Initiative (CBI) is a government-registered, woman-led, and youth-driven national Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) in Nigeria. Our mission is to save lives and alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable groups, including children, adolescents, young people, women, and People with Disabilities (PWD).
We focus on maintaining human dignity during crises and promoting the rights of these groups in society. Our various donor and self-funded projects aim to address humanitarian needs among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities in Nigeria.
Our Areas of Operation
CBI operates primarily in the Northeast (Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, and Bauchi States) and Northwest (Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kebbi States) of Nigeria. We employ a multi-sectoral approach, engaging stakeholders and communities to implement effective programs. Our expertise includes advocacy, awareness creation, and behavioral change programming across key sectors, such as:
- Health: Family Planning (FP), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), HIV/AIDS, Routine Immunization (RI)
- Education
- Nutrition: Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN)
- Protection: Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Child Protection, Gender Equality & Inclusion (GE&I)
- Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
- Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL)
Our objectives are to enhance access to basic and reproductive health services, support distressed families, and promote infrastructural and environmental development.
Partnerships and Collaborations
CBI collaborates with various governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Budget and Planning, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Women’s Affairs, and the Ministry of Health. We also partner with local and international organizations, actively participating in several Clusters, working groups, and Civil Society Organization (CSO) Networks at both state and national levels.
