Job Summary
Dangote Sugar Refinery is looking for a skilled Plant Inspection Engineer (Instrument & Automation) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting first-level and specific inspections of instrument components and automation systems in accordance with industry best practices. Additionally, the role will involve ensuring that shutdowns are properly planned and coordinating with the planning/scheduling team to ensure all required spares are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Response: Apply corrective actions during emergencies to handle shutdowns effectively.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and maintain production processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Organize and schedule repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve process issues to ensure the sustained operation of equipment.
- Food Safety Compliance: Safeguard the exposure of instrument equipment parts, panels, and automation components to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Work Orders: Create and manage work orders for scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to improvement projects that enhance the efficiency and reliability of plant operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree (BSc) in System & Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer usage for technical and communication purposes.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex systems and identify areas of improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with teams and management.
- In-depth knowledge of plant equipment, processes, and handling of instrumentation and automation tools.
