About the Role

The Procurement Manager for MBS (Marketing and Business Services), EWA (East and West Africa) will oversee the EWA Business Services portfolio. This role focuses on commercial negotiations, strategic development, operational excellence, and fostering strong relationships between Unilever and its suppliers.

You will lead cost-saving initiatives, drive gross margin improvement, and support Unilever’s mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable business services that meet local and regional needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Procurement Manager, your responsibilities include:

1. Strategic Sourcing and Negotiation:

   • Execute regional strategic sourcing projects.
   • Plan and execute local negotiations, ensuring commercial benefits and financial compliance.
   • Analyze market data and supplier segmentation to identify sourcing opportunities.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Ensure adherence to company policies for sourcing activities.
   • Guide stakeholders in compliant sourcing practices.
   • Work with key stakeholders to align on portfolio strategies.

3. Supplier Management:

   • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
   • Manage supplier performance and ensure compliance with contracts.
   • Support the adoption of preferred supplier listings and rate agreements.

4. Operational Excellence:

   • Drive cost-efficiency through eProcurement tools.
   • Support process improvement, financial forecasting, and sustainability initiatives.
   • Implement resilience and complexity reduction programs.

5. Performance Monitoring:

   • Deliver financial KPIs, including net savings and sustainability targets.
   • Ensure transparency in operations and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will need:

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in procurement (experience in indirect procurement preferred).
  • Proven expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Background in FMCG or similar industries is an advantage.

• Skills:

  • Strong analytical and financial forecasting skills.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (e.g., Coupa, CLM, SRS, PowerBI).
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
