Established in 2023, JAREI is dedicated to providing essential aid, relief, and sustainable development solutions to communities in need across Nigeria. Job Opening: Program Manager
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Duration: 1 Year
Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Program Manager to lead strategic partnerships, manage grants, and implement programs in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States. This role is critical to the success of JAREI’s projects, focusing on humanitarian interventions, capacity building, and sustainable community development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Oversee the implementation of all program activities, ensuring alignment with JAREI’s strategic goals.
- Grants Management: Manage all aspects of the grant cycle, including proposal writing, budgeting, and donor compliance.
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Collaborate with the M&E team to track project performance and impact, making data-driven decisions for improvement.
- Risk Management: Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for effective program execution.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent JAREI at meetings and forums to enhance visibility and influence.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with local, national, and international stakeholders.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor program staff, ensuring effective performance and capacity building.
- Other Duties: Carry out additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years leading program interventions in an NGO.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing teams and mentoring staff.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to present results to diverse audiences.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in local languages and English.
- Self-Management: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidentiality: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality on work-related matters.
- Location Flexibility: Willingness to be based in Borno State with regular travel to Adamawa and Yobe States.
- Partnerships & Networking: Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders, including donors and local organizations.
- Grants Management: Proven experience in managing grants, including proposal development and reporting.
- M&E: Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks.
- Software Applications: Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Salary
N150,000 Monthly
