Job Description
As a Project Engineer at Watt Renewables Nigeria Limited, you will oversee the successful execution of engineering projects from conception to completion. This role involves managing engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives and address any issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage plans for solar energy system development, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Conduct engineering site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for solar power system designs.
- Design and coordinate photovoltaic (PV) or solar thermal systems for residential and commercial buildings.
- Design alternative energy systems and create design specifications for solar energy systems or components.
- Provide technical direction and support during installation, start-up, testing, and system commissioning.
- Perform thermal, stress, or cost reduction analyses for solar systems.
- Develop and design vacuum tube collector systems for solar applications.
- Create electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules, or connection diagrams using CAD software.
- Support proposal preparation and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
- Review specifications and recommend engineering or manufacturing changes to achieve solar design objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field).
- Proven experience in project engineering or a similar role.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
