Intersect Consortium is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to manage the procurement of food and store items for our facilities in Abuja. This role requires expertise in food service operations and knowledge of local markets and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure inventory management and cost-effective purchasing.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
- Develop and review food menus with cooks to meet nutritional standards and budgets.
- Manage bulk cooking operations across hospital centres to maintain consistency and quality.
- Reconcile purchasing discrepancies and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct market surveys and negotiate prices with vendors.
- Provide monthly reports on cost savings from purchasing practices.
- Ensure timely delivery of food items and store supplies across facilities.
- Oversee purchasing for all organization centres in Abuja and other locations.
Job Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Purchaser or in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or food service setting.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing techniques, especially in food procurement.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with local vendors and markets.
