Job Title: QA/QC Welding Inspector

Job Summary
The QA/QC Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the alignment of welding materials and consumables in terms of weldability, composition, strength, and homogeneity. The role will require the identification and recommendation of the most suitable welding processes, as well as the determination of the number of required procedures based on client specifications and approved codes. Additionally, the position involves the calculation of consumable quantities to support the full project duration, such as electrodes, gas, filler wires, and other materials critical to the project.
Key Responsibilities
Core/Technical Duties:
- Ensure that the project meets flawless delivery based on project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Witness, monitor, and perform all welding-related quality functions, including reporting and documenting welder performance and consumable selections.
- Address welding concerns and offer practical solutions to mitigate the recurrence of issues.
- Provide guidance on weld failure, create repair plans, and oversee the status of welding repairs across the project.
- Recommend the necessary tools and instruments to optimize welding production and supervision.
- Collaborate with quality coordinators and welding engineers to minimize weld repair rates.
- Oversee the scheduling and qualification of welders, including the approval of Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR).
- Ensure the issuance of Welders' Qualification certificates and ID cards to qualified personnel.
- Conduct periodic checks and performance analysis of welders for quality assurance purposes, sharing insights with the quality team and management.
Requirements
- Education: B.Eng / Tech degree
- Certifications: CSWIP 3.1 certificate is mandatory.
- Additional Courses: ISO 9001, quality management courses.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years' experience in Quality Assurance/Control, particularly in major pipeline projects within the oil and gas industry.
