About the Quality Assurance Programme
The Quality Assurance and Compliance Unit at WHO ensures adherence to internal standards, regulations, and procedures within the global system. The unit provides essential support to WHO managers and staff to ensure compliance in all administrative and financial operations, particularly in the context of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in preparing annual risk-based workplans for the Quality Assurance unit.
- Review GSM transactions to ensure alignment with WHO policies and regulations.
- Conduct compliance, risk management, and quality assurance reviews across WHO offices.
- Perform assurance activities, including planned quality assurance reviews and spot checks.
- Strengthen internal controls and improve partnership management processes.
- Facilitate staff and partner capacity building through training and workshops.
- Conduct on-site verifications to ensure compliance with financial requirements.
- Provide reports to the Country Office, Regional Office, and HQ as required.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Essential: Secondary/Technical College Diploma in Business Administration, Financial Management, Auditing, Economics, or related fields.
- Desirable: University degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or Chartered Accountant).
Experience
- Essential: 10+ years in auditing, internal controls, risk management, or financial management.
- Desirable: Experience in audit or quality assurance with international firms or public sector organizations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial management, and IPSAS application.
- Experience in training and capacity building for staff and partners.
- Analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of WHO policies, regulations, and practices is a plus.
