Job Overview
The Radiographer will be responsible for conducting high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using Portable Digital X-ray (PDX) equipment. This role ensures optimal patient care, safety, and compliance with radiation safety protocols while supporting TB case detection initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Assess patients to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.

Prepare and position patients for X-ray procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.

Operate Portable Digital X-ray (PDX) equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.

Maintain accurate records of radiographic procedures and patient information.

Supervise radiography and imaging support staff.

Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines, including ionizing radiation regulations.

Stay updated on industry advancements and new imaging technologies.

Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on radiographic equipment.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Work closely with the State TB and Leprosy Control Program (STBLCP) to optimize Portable Digital X-rays for active TB case finding in hotspot communities.

Implement radiation safety measures to minimize exposure risks.

Provide reassurance and guidance to patients regarding procedures.

Handle referrals and ensure minimal radiation exposure per patient.

Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

A degree in Radiography with a valid practicing license.

Minimum of one year of post-internship and NYSC work experience.

Experience working with NGOs, especially in TB programs, is an advantage.

Strong emotional intelligence to handle distressing situations professionally.

Physical fitness to manage the demands of the role, including standing for long periods and moving equipment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients.

High attention to detail and strong observation skills.

Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
