Job Title: Radiographer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform radiology services for inpatients and outpatients as requested by medical doctors.

  • Report findings electronically to the medical team and provide timely updates on patient health conditions.

  • Maintain accurate records of all radiological images and compile weekly activity reports.

  • Ensure compliance with all radiation safety protocols, including the protection of vulnerable individuals such as pregnant women.

  • Utilize protective aprons and radiation safety devices while clearly marking radiation areas.

  • Adhere to hygiene protocols and maintain cleanliness of x-ray equipment, ensuring proper waste disposal according to MSF safety standards.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks and store radiological materials appropriately.

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance service delivery.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality while communicating clearly and respectfully with both patients and staff.

  • Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of biomedical equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer protocols.

  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, damages, or losses to supervisors.

  • Conduct regular Quality Assurance checks on radiographic equipment and imaging results.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A certified Radiographer with a recognized qualification in Radiology.

  • Experience in medical imaging, preferably in a hospital or emergency healthcare setting.

  • Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and hygiene standards.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

  • Willingness to adhere to MSF's humanitarian principles and ethical medical practices.
