Duties and Responsibilities
As the Registrar, you will serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the College, reporting directly to the Provost. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the general administration and management of the College’s day-to-day operations.
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records for all staff and students.
- Managing and conducting all correspondence for the College Council and Management.
- Serving as Secretary to the Council, Management Committee, Academic Board, and any other Council Committees, as mandated by the Federal Colleges of Education Act, 2023.
- Supporting the Provost and Council in formulating and implementing College policies.
- Facilitating the effective operation of the College by ensuring that all administrative processes are efficient and aligned with institutional goals.
- Undertaking any other duties as may be directed by the Council or the Provost.
Qualification and Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A good honors degree in Social Sciences, Arts, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Advanced Qualifications: A relevant Master's degree with a minimum of 18 years of cognate work experience. A Doctorate degree is an added advantage.
- Professional Experience: Must have held the position of Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 15.
- Professional Development: Evidence of continuous professional development is required.
- ICT Proficiency: Strong skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Professional Membership: Must be a member of a recognized professional body in a relevant field.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be below the age of 59 at the time of appointment.
Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service
The terms of appointment are governed by the current 2015 Revised Schemes and Conditions of Service for Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria. The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years.
Salary
The salary is consolidated, in line with the standard remuneration for Registrars and College Librarians at Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria.
