Job Summary

The Risk Management Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization's objectives. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure risk management practices are integrated into daily operations, and internal controls are effective and compliant with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential risks, including financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Conduct regular reviews to ensure controls are functioning effectively.
• Prepare comprehensive risk management reports for senior management and the board.
• Maintain documentation of risk management activities, including assessments and plans.
• Assist in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and policies.
• Continuously enhance risk management processes based on best practices.
• Conduct training programs to promote a risk-aware culture within the organization.
• Collaborate with departments to integrate risk mitigation into operational processes.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and prepare for audits and inspections.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certification in risk management (e.g., CRISC, CERA) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management or a related field.
• Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Skills: Financial modeling and analysis, data visualization, risk assessment methodologies, risk mitigation techniques.
• Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, adaptability, teamwork.

Salary

N300,000 - N500,000 monthly.
