Job Overview

As a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe workplace. Your responsibilities will include enforcing safety regulations, conducting inspections, and implementing preventive measures to ensure a hazard-free environment for employees and visitors. Your proactive approach will help prevent accidents and ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

• Ensure proper installation and safe operation of all equipment.

• Lead safety inductions for new employees and ensure compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safety boot policies.

• Stay up to date with health and safety regulations and implement necessary changes within the company.

• Organize and participate in health and safety meetings.

• Provide comprehensive safety training programs for employees and management.

• Develop internal health and safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Implement safe work practices and ensure their adherence across all departments.

• Manage hazardous substance handling, storage, and disposal in compliance with safety standards.

• Conduct risk assessments and establish mitigation measures.

• Organize and execute emergency drills, musters, and safety exercises.

• Ensure all employees understand and comply with emergency procedures.

• Monitor staff health, manage the site clinic, and oversee medication distribution.

• Compile incident reports, analyze accident trends, and make recommendations for safety improvements.

• Coordinate with regulatory authorities to maintain compliance with legal safety standards.

• Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Certification in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is an advantage.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.

• Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.

• Excellent communication and training skills.

• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety strategies.

• Proficient in reporting and documentation of safety protocols.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
