We are currently seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team in the role of Director, Sales & Marketing. This pivotal position will be based in Lagos or Abuja and falls within the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) sector, specifically cement manufacturing. Reporting directly to the Managing Director/CEO, the Director of Sales & Marketing will play a critical role in devising and executing strategic initiatives aimed at driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and bolstering the visibility of our cement products in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with corporate objectives and targets.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to optimize strategy formulation.
- Lead and guide the sales team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including geographical expansion and customer acquisition.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure synergy between sales, marketing, and overall business goals.
- Effectively manage the sales and marketing budget, monitoring expenditures and returns on investment (ROI) to maximize resource allocation.
- Create and execute marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and advertising initiatives to enhance brand awareness and visibility.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of customer preferences and competitor activities to identify avenues for product development and differentiation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in the cement industry or related sectors.
- Mandatory professional certification/membership of the Institute of Marketing & Public Relations of Nigeria.
Skills / Competencies
- In-depth understanding of the cement industry, market dynamics, and customer needs.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability and willingness to travel on short notice.
- Track record of driving sales growth, expanding market share, and achieving revenue targets.
