At Toyota's Data and Analytics Department, our success hinges on the expertise and dedication of our people. We are currently seeking a Senior Big Data Full Stack Engineer who is passionate and highly motivated to join our dynamic team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Big Data Full Stack Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to engineer a cutting-edge enterprise Data Platform. Guided by principles of Agility, DevSecOps, and continuous innovation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our Big Data platform meets high standards of performance, scalability, and cost optimization, utilizing emerging technologies in the Data universe.
Key Responsibilities

Design and Develop: Create state-of-the-art Big Data solutions within AWS to enhance advanced analytics capabilities across the company.

Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering: Build scalable, secure data infrastructure and cloud engineering solutions for big data processing across data lake and data science platforms.

Agility and Automation: Drive engineering agility through infrastructure and CI-CD automations, enhancing productivity and reducing total cost of ownership.

Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate with Platform users to recommend optimal cloud services and automated solutions, fostering continuous improvement and efficiency.

Quality Assurance: Conduct design, feature, and code reviews to ensure engineering excellence, maintainability, and high-quality standards.

Analytics and Insights: Support the development of analytics tools leveraging the data pipeline to deliver actionable insights for business stakeholders, including data preparation for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
Reporting Structure
You will report to the Manager, Data Engineering, and play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across our organization's journey towards creating mobility solutions for all.
Requirements

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in developing Big Data solutions supporting business analytics and data science teams.

Cloud Engineering Proficiency: 2-3 years of hands-on experience with AWS, including infrastructure automation with Terraform or Cloud Formation, VPC connectivity, API gateways, Lambda, SNS, EC2/ECS, Airflow, and other relevant services.

DevOps and Deployment: Proficiency in DevOps practices and deployment automations using GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Chef, XL Release, and XL Deploy.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of Cloud Data platforms and engineering solutions with Spark, SQL, Python, Java, Scala-Spark, Bash, and scripting languages. Familiarity with AWS EMR, Apache Spark, Databricks, RDS/Postgres, Redshift, and GCP Big Query & Google Cloud Storage is advantageous.

Continuous Learning: Ability to stay updated with industry trends and propose advanced tooling/solutions for Cloud Data Lake & Data Science platforms.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Credentials: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, AWS/Databricks cloud certifications, AWS/Databricks Engineering certifications.

Industry Experience: Experience within the Automobile and/or Manufacturing sectors is beneficial.
