We are currently recruiting for the position of Support & Documentation Officer in Port Harcourt, Rivers. This full-time role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics and transit services.

Key Responsibilities
The Support & Documentation Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Liaison with Public Institutions: Coordinate with NAFDAC and other public institutions to secure necessary permits and approvals for imports.
- Permit Management: Advise internal users on the availability of relevant import permits and process permit requests in a timely manner.
- Invoice Management: Oversee freight forwarding and local clearing agents' invoices, ensuring pre-vetting before submission to the Finance and Accounts department.
- Invoice Processing: Utilize the web cycle invoice processing tool to ensure proper processing of invoices from agents.
- Service Quality Participation: Attend meetings with foreign freight forwarding agents and local clearing agents to discuss service quality and operational improvements.
- Transit Operations: Collaborate with local clearing agents on issues and policies affecting transit operations.
- Contract Management: Assist in the preparation and negotiation of Call-off contracts for freight forwarding and local clearing agents.
- Reporting: Prepare various reports, including departmental weekly reports, monthly dashboards, quarterly and yearly freight cost reports, and cost savings reports.
- Documentation: Ensure proper record-keeping of invoices, container deposit refunds, and NAFDAC-related documents.
- Purchase Orders: Create and manage purchase orders via the E-transit system.
- Container Refunds: Coordinate the recovery and transmission of container deposit refunds to the Finance & Accounts department.
- Cost Estimates: Prepare sea/air freight cost estimates to advise management on changes in transport modes and assist in purchasing decision-making processes.
- Meeting Participation: Participate in ABS 13-1 duet meetings and other departmental meetings as required.
- Additional Tasks: Support other departmental activities or services assigned by the manager.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping and logistics activities.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of SAP, MS Excel, and MS Word.
- Educational Background: A graduate degree in Management or Social Sciences.
