Job Overview
This role is key to maintaining AXA Mansard's leadership in the health insurance segment in Nigeria. As a Team Member in Group Product and Underwriting, you will be responsible for supporting the design, pricing, and underwriting of health insurance products, ensuring that our offerings meet the highest standards of profitability and risk management. You will also play an essential part in evaluating group products for both new and renewal businesses and collaborating with different departments to ensure smooth execution.
Key Responsibilities

Underwriting & Risk Profiling: Assist with the underwriting, risk profiling, and profitability assessment for both local and international Group health insurance products, ensuring they are aligned with company standards.

Pricing & Renewals: Ensure that approved pricing and renewal decisions are effectively implemented during the underwriting period, contributing to the sustainable growth of the portfolio.

Portfolio Monitoring: Collaborate with the sales team to support ongoing portfolio performance monitoring and implement corrective actions when needed.

Cross-Department Collaboration: Liaise with other departments including Risk, Actuarial, and Legal for case reviews, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Strategic Support: Provide additional support as required by the Team Lead and Head of Health Underwriting, Product, and Pricing. You may also be involved in special projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
Role Qualifications

Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc) from a reputable tertiary institution.

Experience: 1 - 3 years of work experience in health underwriting, health insurance operations, or a related field. Previous experience in health risk assessment or portfolio management will be a plus.
Required Skills and Competencies

Health Underwriting Knowledge: A solid understanding of underwriting practices, particularly in health insurance, is essential. Familiarity with health operations and regulatory guidelines will be advantageous.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Medical Terminology: Basic knowledge of medical terms is necessary to accurately assess health-related risks and insurance policies.

Leadership & Problem Solving: Strong leadership qualities and problem-solving skills. You should be able to take initiative, offer insights, and drive process improvements in your areas of responsibility.
