Job Opportunity: Treasury & Investments Officer
Africa Re is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join its team as a Treasury & Investments Officer based in Lagos, Nigeria. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Treasury & Investments in managing the assets of the Africa Re Group, ensuring capital preservation, liquidity, and profitability in accordance with the Corporation's policies on investment, liquidity, and Asset and Liability Matching.
Responsibilities
The Treasury & Investments Officer will have a variety of key responsibilities, including:
- Treasury Management System: Inputting and maintaining data in the company’s treasury management system and other applications.
- Liquidity Monitoring: Ensuring adequate liquidity to meet various payment obligations.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Participating in the forecasting and annual budgeting process.
- Reporting: Preparing periodic reports such as liquidity, budget performance, and investment tracking in line with IFRS standards.
- Investment Instructions: Preparing accurate and timely investment and payment instructions.
- Investment Analysis: Conducting analysis of transactions executed by external fund managers as well as internal transactions.
- Reconciliation: Performing periodic reconciliation of bank balances and investment positions to ensure accurate reporting.
- Other Duties: Handling additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors and management.
Academic Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A University Degree in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' practical experience, especially in Treasury & Investments management.
- Experience in the treasury and investments department of a re/insurance company or financial institution is essential.
- Relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
