United Nigeria Airlines, a leading Nigerian airline incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act of 1990, is seeking a Quality & Safety Manager to join our team. The role is pivotal in overseeing and managing all aspects of quality assurance and safety programs within the airline.

Job Summary
As the Quality and Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. You will develop, implement, and monitor safety management systems (SMS), quality control processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Safety Management:
- Develop and maintain the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS) in line with regulatory requirements.
- Foster a safety culture through training, workshops, and awareness programs.
- Liaise with aviation authorities and regulatory bodies on safety issues and compliance.
- Conduct safety risk assessments and hazard analyses; implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Oversee incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.

Quality Assurance:
- Implement the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet industry standards (e.g., IOSA, ISO, NCAA).
- Perform audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor the QMS effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and maintain relevant documentation.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulations set by ICAO, NCAA, and other bodies.
- Stay updated on aviation regulations and monitor internal exemptions.
- Prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies and ensure timely renewal of the AOC.

Incident Management:
- Lead investigations of safety incidents and quality non-conformances.
- Collaborate with departments to develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain incident reporting systems and ensure accurate documentation.

Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety, quality, and compliance.
- Provide guidance on safety and quality matters.
- Manage the quality manual and oversee document controllers and quality inspectors.
- Evaluate nominated post holders and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance and safety management in the airline industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Certified Aviation Quality Auditor (CAQA) or similar certification preferred.
- Proficiency in safety and quality management tools and software.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations (e.g., ICAO, NCAA, IATA, IOSA).
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Skills/Abilities
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and aviation safety software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Leadership and team management experience.
