Admission Requirements
Admission Criteria
Postgraduate Diploma Programs: Candidates seeking admission into a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programme must fulfill the following criteria:
- Holders of a Bachelor's degree from the University of Uyo or any institution recognized by the University's Senate.
- Individuals with qualifications deemed equivalent to a First Degree, not lower than a third class pass by the University's Senate.
- Recognized Higher National Diploma holders with Lower Credit in relevant disciplines are eligible.
- Graduates with a minimum of Third Class in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, or related courses from recognized tertiary institutions can apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Order and Information Management.
- Possession of credit passes in English, Mathematics, and any three (3) other related subjects in WAEC and NECO.
Master’s Degree Programs: To qualify for admission into a Master’s Degree Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree with not lower than a Second Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline or possess a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.
- Have credit passes in English, Mathematics, and any three (3) other related subjects in WAEC and NECO.
Ph.D. in Public Order and Information Management: Candidates for the Ph.D. in Public Order and Information Management must:
- Be Master’s degree holders in Public Order and Information Management from the University of Uyo or other recognized institutions.
- Possess credit passes in English, Mathematics, and any three (3) other related subjects in WAEC and NECO.
Ph.D. Programs: For Ph.D. programs in Peace and Conflict Studies, Environmental and Public Health Parasitology, Entomology, Hydrobiology, and Parasitology, candidates must:
- Meet specific credit pass requirements in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as applicable to PGD entry requirements.
Eligibility
- Applicants must fulfill departmental requirements as specified.
- Submission of all transcripts within the first year of admission is mandatory to avoid forfeiture of admission.
- NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificates are required, unless exempted under specific circumstances.
- Applicants for Master’s and Ph.D. programs will undergo screening as part of the admission process.

- Pay a non-refundable fee of N12,000.00 via Remita Payment Platform.
- Visit UNIUYO e-portals or the official website and select the Admission forms link.
- Choose the Admission Form Type (Postgraduate Diploma, Masters, and Doctorate Degree Part-time).
- Complete the online registration and print out the application form.
- Submit completed forms with photocopies of credentials to the Administrative Secretary, School of Continuing Education, University of Uyo.
