Position Available: University Bursar

Location: Bauchi

Job Responsibilities

The University Bursar serves as the Chief Financial Officer, responsible to the Vice Chancellor and Council for the financial administration of the University. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on financial policies and the disbursement of funds.
  • Preparing and presenting the annual budget.
  • Planning, controlling, and periodically evaluating University accounts and treasury services, including fund investments.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by regulatory institutions.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of a Second Class (Honours) Lower Degree in Accounting and a professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, ICAN, ANAN).
  • At least 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a University setting.
  • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), including relevant financial and accounting software.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must have no history of financial misconduct and should not be older than 60 years at the time of duty assumption.
  • Good health and a solid understanding of the University's vision and mission are essential.
  • Possession of higher degrees or postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields is an advantage.

Conditions of Service

The salary and conditions of service align with those in federal universities across Nigeria, as determined by the University Governing Council. The appointment will last for five years, as specified in the University Laws and Regulations.
