Steps to Obtain a Driver's License in Nigeria

  1. Enroll in an accredited driving school and undergo training to gain essential driving skills.

  2. Undergo a driving test conducted by the Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) affiliated with the driving school.

  3. Successfully pass the driving test and obtain a certificate of proficiency from the VIO.

  4. Complete the driver's license application form at the Driver's Licence Centre (DLC).

  5. Make payment for the license fee either online or at designated banks.

  6. Present your completed application form to the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) Officer and VIO for endorsement at the DLC.

  7. Proceed to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Officer at the DLC for biometric data capture.

  8. Receive a temporary driver's license valid for 60 days upon completion of the biometric data capture process.

  9. Collect your original driver's license from the BIR Office after the 60-day temporary period.

Classes of Nigerian Driver's License
