Job Description:
WaterAid is currently implementing the Urban Water and Sanitation Access Project (UWASAP) in Lagos, aiming to enhance universal access to sustainable, resilient, and affordable WASH services. As the Urban Water Supply and Utility Manager, you will play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs in line with WaterAid's standards and approaches.
- Monitoring the performance of service providers to ensure satisfactory delivery of services.
- Representation in various meetings, workshops, and seminars, facilitating field visits and engagements with stakeholders.
- Cultivating a culture of knowledge management for WaterAid and partners in Lagos.
- Contributing to the development of new project proposals and the identification of strategic project areas and partners.
- Ensuring partner organizations are aligned with program principles and contribute to sustainable WASH services.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in municipal utility maintenance, water system construction, and public works, with at least three years in a managerial capacity.
- Extensive experience in strengthening urban utility systems for sustainable service delivery.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities, capable of managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.
- Proficiency in program/project management, including the development of plans and monitoring frameworks.
